Dennis Rainey: When's the last time you told your father, "thank you"?
Guest: Probably the last time I told my dad thank you was when he cancelled a debt that I had to him. He said don't worry about it, the debts cancelled. That meant a lot to me because I knew that he loved me and that he cared about me.[ Read Full Transcript ]
Dennis Rainey: Today, I want to take time to read part of a tribute that a woman wrote to her father. She said:
Dad, I want to thank you for caring enough to stand firm in doing what you thought was best for us. I know people said that you were too hard on us kids, but you can be proud that your four children are now adults who are mature, responsible, and able to raise their own families. I thank you for teaching me how to make it on my own and not having to be dependent on you and Mom. I want to thank you for loving my children and being a wonderful grandfather, helping them create special memories of their own. I thank you the most for loving Mom and staying together for 38 years. Thank you dad, I love you.
One final thought. What wonderful memories do you have of your father? Why not sit down and write him a note tonight?
